Data Protection
We use the customer data that you transmit to us to provide insurance coverage to the customer. This data is handled with the utmost care.
The process works as follows: By selecting and thus opting in to product protection, the customer consents to you, as the merchant, transmitting the necessary customer data to Hakuna in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Hakuna processes this data to ensure insurance coverage in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
Requirements
To comply with regulations, it must be ensured that:
the customer has access to the insurance and data protection document provided under the protection plan (either via link or in paper form) wherever the product protection is offered
the customer has actively chosen the protection plan (no pre-selection!)

§X Hakuna product protection
In partnership with Hakuna GmbH, Albrecht-Dürer-Str. 18, 82008 Unterhaching (hereinafter referred to as "Hakuna"), we offer product protection insurance for select products.
Upon conclusion of your insurance policy, you will provide Hakuna with the personal data required for the execution of the contract as part of the checkout process (application data) on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a GDPR.
Hakuna will process this data to the extent necessary for the formation and execution of the insurance contract. In addition, insurance-related data such as customer number, sum insured, insurance period and premium (contract data) as well as, if necessary, bank data, invoices, details of a third party (e.g. a repair service provider) and the details you provide regarding any damage (performance data) will be processed and stored. Processing is carried out by Hakuna for the provision of your insurance coverage in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
Hakuna also processes your data to protect legitimate interests of Hakuna or third parties (e.g. to ensure IT security, prevent criminal acts) pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR or to comply with legal obligations (e.g. regulatory requirements, retention obligations) pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.
